My professional mediator skills focused on internal workplace discourse. Time and time again, I found myself optimistically thinking people would be able to nip conflict in the bud before things escalated. The management and leadership team dealt with it ineffectively (or not at all) until it reached a crisis point. Then I was called in to try and help fix the situation.


After having mediated partnership disputes, discriminatory action disputes, employee/management disputes, and disputes amongst employees, the common thread for all these disputes is ineffective communication.


Mediation is a beneficial process to simplify and understand communication, and when the relationship has gotten to the point of no return, that calls for outside intervention. However, mediation is usually a reactive process.


It would make me extremely happy to be out of a mediation job if individuals and organizations took a proactive approach to build empathetic workplace relationships. This is why I became an executive coach specializing in leadership, communication and employee engagement.

I am in absolute bliss when I see leaders and employees create a fantastic culture where empathy is rampant, engagement is over the moon, and everyone is in sync with the organization’s purpose and vision.


Discussions by Design was born out of the desire to help business leaders and teams in organizations create a culture where people come first. Where people have discussions that repair, nourish, and nurture work relationships. Where conversations can empower, engage and build connections while deepening work relationships and strengthening bonds.


As a certified executive and business coach, chartered mediator, and international trainer and facilitator. I combine my skills and talents to serve my clients in a way that builds an inclusive and accepting environment:
